Way to diversify your sources. Perhaps you should read something other than Answers in Genesis. The idea that mutations cannot create new information is stupid. All it takes is a duplication, then a mutation that changes the dupe, and boom. New info. I'm not going to waste any more time on this old post. I'm closing the comments but I'll have a new post up sometime on evolution vs intelligent design/creationism.

Andrew comments on The Ultimate Proof of Creation

Klaas Pos's previous research has shown that E. coli can utilize citrate when oxygen levels are low. So, this trait already existed in E. coli bacteria. Beyond that, the bacteria lost some information when this mutation emphasized its ability to handle citrate. It has lost its ability to catabolize ribose (a sugar), and some lines have lost the ability to repair DNA. The resultant bacterium is only able to compete in the laboratory environment and would be considered an inferior species in most environments. (References for these statements can be found at the bottom of this article: http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/aid/v2/n1/a-poke-in-the-eye)

You have been deceived as many have by a logical fallacy. Since this fallacy (equivocation) is so often used by evolutionists, it is worth taking some time to research it so you can recognize it in a few weeks when it is used again. In this tactic the word "evolution" changes meaning from "natural selection" to "beneficial mutation that created new information". These items are clearly different issues, but they have been conflated by those attempting to use evidence for natural selection to prove the theory of evolution.

To get a better understanding of the difference of "Natural Selection" verse "Evolution", read this article:

http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/ee/natural-selection-vs-evolution

Bacteria are used for these experiments because they produce generations quickly, but the basics of bacterial biology are not understood by many, especially DNA and how it is utilized by the cell. This makes it easy for a scientist to deceive people and say, "Look, this is evolution here". For more information about these bacteria experiments see:

http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/aid/v4/n1/beneficial-mutations-in-bacteria

Jon comments on Squarespace Review

I'm currently using Squarespace to develop my website. Not well versed in HTML/CSS but that's the great thing about Squarespace, you don't have to be because it's fairly simple. Another awesome feature is their support. I've sent in numerous support tickets and their response time is within minutes, not days. I'm completely sold and think Squarespace is awesome!

Byron Mullet comments on The Ultimate Proof of Creation

Tim I wouldn't be throwing your fundamentalist Christian roots overboard just yet. Your inability to "see" God anymore in creation just may be yet another proof of his existence and the bibles accuracy. Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. In addition: Proverbs 1:22
"How long, O naive ones, will you love being simple-minded?And scoffers delight themselves in scoffingAndfools hate knowledge? Also, Isaiah 44:18
They do not know, nor do they understand, for He has smeared over their eyes so that they cannot see and their hearts so that they cannot comprehend. And lastly, 12"So I (A)gave them over to the stubbornness of their heart,
To walk in their own devices.
Psalm 81:12
12"So I (A)gave them over to the stubbornness of their heart,
To walk in their own devices.

No one will come to God or see Him when they come in the futile arrogance and pride of human wisdom alone.
When you come in humility, then I predict this verse will become true for you again:
Psalm 19

The Works and the Word of God.

For the choir director. A Psalm of David.

    1The (A)heavens are telling of the glory of God;
And their (B)expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
2Day to (C)day pours forth speech,
And (D)night to night reveals knowledge.
3There is no speech, nor are there words;
Their voice is not heard.
4Their [a](E)line has gone out through all the earth,
And their utterances to the end of the world

Keith comments on The Ultimate Proof of Creation

You gently dismantled a book that could be treated much more harshly. A lot of the debate about religion centers on fundamentalist Christianity versus fundamentalist atheism, and doesn't allow for any combination in between. It's a false dichotomy to state that either the Bible is literally inerrant and true, or there is no God.

I suggest reading Finding Darwin's God by Kenneth R. Miller. Dr. Miller is not the most elegant of writers; in fact I found the book painfully clumsy to read at points. In essence he points to how religionists have it wrong. He points to how scientific atheism is wrong. They he puts forth alternate ideas that suggest that God, basically, created science. Where Einstein famously claims that "God does not play dice," Miller states that yes, that's exactly what God did with the universe. Remember, though, that he's the "house" and invented the games of chance, ensuring that the house would win.

Keep reading. Keep learning. The more I lean, the less I know, but the more exciting the possibilities.

Jason comments on Geocaching, A Beginning

How about that.
