It is becoming more apparent that a personal website is quickly becoming just as important as good business cards, especially for those in technology or a creative industry, but the undertaking can be very intimidating, especially for those who have not set up a website before.
Typically, beginners would have 3 options to choose from when they started a site:
Unfortunately, each of these have significant downsides. Paying a designer is an easy way to start, but good sites are expensive and you will be forced to pay for any future changes you make because you don't know how to do it yourself.
Figuring out how is a great way to make a website if you are creative, have programming skills, and have a ton of time to learn before your website needs to be ready. Unfortunately, most of us don't have this luxury or the required skills to take this route.
Lastly, many people decide to go with whatever website design tools are provided with their service provider/registrar. These are great because you can pick a template you like and change it to your needs. The downside is that finding a good template can be a hastle, and if you want to add a blog, forums, or picture galleries, your likelihood of success with these tools goes down quickly.
Squarespace is a website builder service that breaks the typical mold. Here's why:
In other words, Squarespace is perfect for anyone designing their first page. In just a matter of hours, you can have a beautiful website up and running with your own landing page, blog, and photo galleries.

Thank you for your help!
Not sure how I managed to navigate to this page... but anyway, I like what I see, so keep it up
I bought the Pro package a couple of months back after evaluating their 14-day trial. Though a bit expensive but I liked the simplicity, technology and excellent support. Till the time I successfully registered my domain, the Squarespace team consistently helped me.
Though I feel the templates and widgets are few, but the product is excellent and I hope new features soon.
I'm currently using Squarespace to develop my website. Not well versed in HTML/CSS but that's the great thing about Squarespace, you don't have to be because it's fairly simple. Another awesome feature is their support. I've sent in numerous support tickets and their response time is within minutes, not days. I'm completely sold and think Squarespace is awesome!
